Aggregator information systems such as the European Search Catalogue for Plant Genetic Resources (EURISCO) are cornerstones for making information on plant genetic resources (PGR) available to researchers and breeders. Information that is as comprehensive as possible is the basis for PGR users to select and access the material they need for their scientific and breeding activities. However, those systems are only as good as the information provided to them by the data providers.
As part of a project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), a comprehensive framework for a data quality index (DQI) is to be designed, implemented and validated, enabling the systematic assessment and improvement of the quality of PGR data in EURISCO.
To strengthen our team of the research group Genebank Documentation, we are looking for an experienced researcher to join us from 1 July 2026 at the earliest to help develop this framework.
If you need further information, feel free to contact Dr. Stephan Weise (tel.: +49 39482 5-744) directly.
For us, your qualifications and strengths count. Therefore, everyone is welcome – independent of gender, origin, age, or disability. The IPK is striving to increase the proportion of women in sectors where they are underrepresented and, therefore, explicitly encourages qualified women to apply. Our institute has been certified for Career and Family (“berufundfamilie”), and we offer family-friendly working conditions and flexible working hours. The IPK has set a goal to employ more people with disabilities. Qualified applicants with a disability will be given preference.
We look forward to receiving your complete application (letter of motivation, CV, certificates) as a single PDF document until 08.05.2026 via online-application (https://www.ipk-gatersleben.de/en/career/job-offers/). If you have questions or require more information, please contact Kerstin Schweigert (jobs@ipk-gatersleben.de). Please indicate the reference number 18/04/26 in your correspondence. Please note that incomplete application documents cannot be considered. Foreign qualifications must carry out an equivalence test in Germany, which is subject to a fee. This must be presented in the event of later hiring: https://zab.kmk.org/en/statement-comparability
