This role will be part of the Corporate Functions Tower for Group Technology ( IT1.12), which oversees IT service delivery and manages key relationships across all corporate and central units, including Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Services/Facilities, and Procurement. The Tower also manages cross-functional domains such as document management, collaboration platforms, corporate websites, and Group-wide Identity Access Management (IAM), as well as selected central platforms and Regulatory/Integrated Risk Management (IRM) product delivery.
The IT Section Reinsurance Finance Systems delivers business value through the management of IT products including execution of change projects for all Finance departments of Munich RE's Reinsurance Divisions worldwide.
This position will be located in Munich.
Your Job
- Management of global IT products in the area of financial applications for Reinsurance Accounting
- Management of business requirements and consulting business to fulfill business strategy, using market and technical innovation knowledge
- Planning and aligning product roadmap with business on basis of target architecture, including necessary technical and security refactoring
- Initiating projects and conducting implementation of change requests, planning and executing product releases, conducting sign-off procedures
- Knowledge of all relevant technical and functional details of the products, including interfaces to other products
- Responsibility for a stable run of the products, including setup and management of all relevant processes for run, support, incident and monitoring - aligned with the needs of the business. In case of major incidents escalation and management of solution
- Constant check of incident volume (incl. root causes) and infrastructure settings to setup necessary improvement measures
- Updating all information to run and develop the products including SLA with business
- Conducting and updating compliance gates and checking that the products are running secure and compliant including all aspects of VAIT (regulatory requirements for IT)
- Steering of the IT-teams
- Management of product costs and budgets
- Management of software licenses needed for the product
Your Profile
- University degree, preferably in Computer engineering / IT or similar qualification
- Several years of experience in IT application development and hence in-depth knowledge of the entire software development and product life cycle
- Track record of successful implementations that delivered value to the business
- Demonstrable experience with requirements engineering including use cases and user stories
- Experience with agile project management including leading teams and being responsible for all financial aspects
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing
- Experience in the management of diverging interests of various stakeholders, ability to set priorities in a pragmatic and efficient way
- A high degree of commitment and the willingness and ability to master the various tasks
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps would be advantageous
- Fluent spoken and written English and German as well as willingness to travel internationally
